God divine purpose of marriage – GOD has created man in His image in the image of God created he them ( Genesis 1:27)and it is for this reason that a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh ( Gen.2:23-24.). The first recorded words of mankind were those of Adam, who said ” This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh and she shall be called Woman as she is taken out of a man. Hence what God has joined together, let no man put asunder (Matthew 19:4-6). Gods first commission to man was “ Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth and to have dominion over all the earth which is only possible by a man & a woman united together in marriage . . The legal definition of marriage may have changed but God’s revelation has not changed affirming that marriage is a covenant relationship between a man and a woman and a family as the father, mother and children ( Eph 5:21 to 6:4 ) It is good for a member of Christ to highly hold the biblical standard for godly marriage. Which is a threefold convenant relationship between one man, one woman and one God who externally exists in three persons as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
